Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge T2 Changi Airport Review: Underwhelming

Worth Coming to Airport Early For: YES (For 30 mins if you want a snack / drink)

Better Than The Terminal? YES (T2 is pretty nice though)

SilverKris Lounge Entrance – I only had access to business class for today. Maybe someday in first.

Introduction

My one week trip to Singapore was over and it was time to head back to NYC. My hotel check-out was at 11am and my first leg to Zurich departed at midnight, so I had tons of time to kill. Luckily, that was not a problem since Changi is the nicest airport on earth. After taking the MRT to the airport, I first checked out the Jewel (which is incredible) and the Changi Priority Pass lounge (which was just ~ok~). Although, if you have spare time, I’d recommend just spending your time in the Jewel complex.

Nicer than JFK, one might say

However, as evening approached, I figured it was time to head airside and check out the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge. I was flying Swiss Airlines Business class tonight, which gives access to this lounge since the airlines are Star Alliance partners.

In this post, you’ll find:

How to Find the Lounge & Access

The Changi Airport Terminal 2 check-in area is beautiful. It’s hard to imagine a better-looking airport. However, note that this airport is strange in that each gate has its own security. There is no centralized security to enter airside. However, you do need to show your ticket to get through the automated turnstile to enter the airside area.

After a quick scan I was in the airport and off to the lounge. The lounge is pretty easy to spot – just follow the signs immediately after security and you’ll find the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge on the second floor up the escalator (along with a bunch of other lounges – like the Priority Pass SATS Premier lounge which I reviewed on my previous trip to Singapore).

The most carpeted airport in the world? Honestly, strange choice of floor material. But still nice
Take the escalator up to the lounge(s)

At the entrance of the lounge, you’ll see two separate wings – Business and First.

In terms of access policy, the Business class lounge is open 24/7. It’s located on the third floor nearest to the E gates (there are plenty of signs, you’ll have no problem finding it).

In general, access is open for anyone flying in Singapore Airlines business class or business class on a Star Alliance partner. For me today, that was Swiss Airlines.

Please note that if you’re star alliance gold, there is an entirely separate watered-down “Krisflyer Gold Lounge” if you’re flying in economy or premium economy.

Here’s the exact Singapore Airlines lounge access policy if confused:

It’s on my bucket list to try out Singapore first

After a quick scan of my Swiss Airlines boarding pass, I was waived into the business class section. There’s a mini seating area immediately upon entering the lounge.

Lounge Review & Amenities

I visited this lounge around 7pm and it was pretty slammed. Not Amex-lounge slammed, but still quite busy. There are plenty of SIA / Star Alliance (Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, etc) evening departures, so lots of folks will head here pre-flight.

This lounge is decently nice in its design, but it’s quite dark. I love a lounge with good views for watching the planes (and natural light), but unfortunately this lounge has dungeon vibes.

Main Dining Room and Buffet of the Lounge
Espresso machines, which are the main thing I care about in a lounge
The food selection was decent – I had many samosas
Here’s more of the dinner buffet
They had lots of canned beverages available, including coconut water which is what I opted for
Salad station and some grab-and-go bites
Sad Fruit Selection
They even had a self-service ice cream trolley, which was a nice touch
The lounge also features a made-to-order soup station. I’m not a huge soup guy though, especially in hot and humid Singapore

The main seating area is huge. Kind of feels like a high-end corporate waiting room, though.

I just got samosas and some pre-flight drinks. I had 24 hours of flying ahead of me, so no alcohol today.

Bubbly & coconut water = stomach friendly?
The lounge also has meeting rooms for the corporate folks (or if you need peace and quiet)
I parked myself at the high top tables in back to get some work done

This lounge features wireless charging (I love not having to dig for my charger). There’s also an assortment of outlets for all nationalities near most seats.

Smaller side seating area

The bathrooms are standard – nothing special.

Brushing my teeth pre flight

They have all sorts of toiletries in the men’s bathroom, which is nice. Given I was on a nighttime flight, I used one of their toothbrush sets. Although I did end up eating a full meal on my Swiss flight (which was really good).

Conclusion

Overall, this lounge is ~decent~. It’s dark and lacks views, but there is a ton of comfortable seating and pretty good food. I think Singapore Airlines recognizes this lounge (along with the first class lounge next door) is not up to their standards (especially compared to their nicer lounges in other terminals), and renovations have begun as of April 2025. The lounge remains open during this time, with a target end date of 2027. I’m looking forward to coming back when it’s done. However, in the meantime, this lounge is nothing special, but a fine place to grab a small bite and drink preflight.

Next stop: Zurich.
