Worth Coming to Airport Early For: NO (meh food and mediocre physical space)
Better Than The Terminal? NO

Introduction
After a fun stay in Singapore, it was time to head to my final destination of the trip: Phuket. I won’t be reviewing the upcoming flight since it was about the same as my other short haul flight on Singapore airlines (which is to say, very good). However, this was my first time at Changi airport in over a decade and I was super excited to check out the Jewel and Changi airport in general.
Honestly, other than to grab a free snack or a quick drink, I’d just check out the Jewel and hang around there instead vs. going to this lounge.

Changi Airport is consistently ranked #1 in the world, and it deserves it. I mean, this doesn’t even look like an airport. Jewel has the world’s largest indoor waterfall, tons of (real) foliage, and is surrounded by a high end mall and food court that’s actually landside, so there’s a mix of travelers and locals.
The food here is also (generally) decently priced with a mix of international and western options.
Anyways, onto the lounge itself.
In this post, you’ll find:

How to Access This Lounge
This lounge is accessible via priority pass. I got in with the priority pass membership I have via my Amex platinum. The lounge is technically open 24 hours per day. Stays here are capped at maximum 3 hours, although in practice I’ve never seen that actually enforced, ever. Just don’t ask, don’t make a scene, and you’ll be fine if staying for longer. Lounge staff is not paid enough to care unless you give them a reason to.
Where To Find The Lounge in the Airport
This lounge is located airside in terminal 2, and can be found after taking an immediate left after passing through immigration. It’s important to note that Changi airport security is a bit quirky, in that each gate has its own security, instead of security being centralized to enter airside. So I’d budget a bit more time ahead of heading to the gate than usual. You still need a valid ticket though to show the gate scanner to cross into the airside area.
Terminal 2 is nice on its own, with an indoor garden:

Getting into the lounge was quick; just show your same-day boarding pass and priority pass membership and you’re good to go.

Lounge Tour & Amenities
The lounge is basically one big room. There’s a bit of natural light but unfortunately no good views of the tarmac or runways.

The seating area is mostly these plush chairs with lots of outlets, which is always nice.
And here’s the food / buffet area with some more seating:

The buffet spread was ~ok~ but nothing special. There’s the standard assortment of drinks and coffee, as well as some light bites:

Some hard alcohol if you want a wobbly flight:

Food selection was nothing special, although I did really like the samosas:

And last but not least, the bathroom was standard and clean enough:

There are showers here, but I’m not a huge fan of showering in airports unless absolutely necessary on a long trip.
After heading out of the lounge, couldn’t resist but try out the Nasi Lemak burger at McDonalds – I never eat here in the US but I give myself a pass internationally. It’s a cultural experience?

Conclusion
Pretty soon, it was time to head out to Phuket. All in all, I would avoid this priority pass lounge and just stick to the Jewel in the future. The lounge is fine if you want a free snack and a place to chill for 15 minutes, but otherwise Changi is so nice that it negates the need to escape from the airport in the first place.

Some really good insights — I share your sentiment about McDonalds being a cultural experience (haha)! How was the Nasi Lemak burger?
As always, a great read, keep up the good work!
